AZERTAC / The First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, posted a post on her official Instagram account about the rocket attacks by the Armenian armed forces on the city of Gandja.

“The Armenian armed forces continue to bombard the civilian areas of Azerbaijan extensively, in flagrant violation of the humanitarian ceasefire and the Geneva Conventions of 1949.

Today, at around 2 a.m., the city of Gandja was subjected to an unprecedented rocket strike by its cruelty.

As a result of rocket fire, 9 people (including 4 women) were killed, 34 people were injured and many civilian objects were seriously damaged.

The bombing of our towns and villages continued most of the day yesterday. Since the entry into force of the humanitarian ceasefire, the Armenians have fired 548 shells at parts of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Unable to accept its defeat on the battlefield, the Armenian side deliberately attacks the civilian population.

I call on the world community not to be indifferent to these events.

The leaders of international organizations, human rights organizations, the media and public opinion must strongly condemn this barbaric cruelty against the civilian population of Azerbaijan.

Yerevan must stop ignoring international conventions, as well as UN Security Council resolutions calling on the Armenian occupying forces to end the aggression against Azerbaijan.

Armenia, which does not openly respect the agreements concluded in Moscow with the mediation of Russia, is causing a new phase of the war in the South Caucasus, the consequences of which will be devastating for it.

Dear compatriots!

Today, you demonstrate the best qualities of our people such as unity, solidarity, compassion and mutual aid. This can only make you feel immense pride! Truth and justice are on our side! We will achieve victory! May Allah have mercy on our dead. I wish a speedy recovery to all injured. May Almighty God protect our army, our people and our homeland! Karabakh is Azerbaijan! », We read in the publication of the Azerbaijani First Vice-President.
