On the occasion of the Giga meeting of the opposition at the Félix Houphouët Boigny stadium, on October 10, Professor Maurice Kakou Guikahué called for civil disobedience. New Africa gives you his full speech.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Presidents of the Political Parties of the opposition
Ladies and Gentlemen, Secretaries General and Executives of the Political Parties of the opposition
Mr. Mayor of the Plateau.
Youth and Women of the Opposition Political Parties.
It is both a pleasant duty and an immense joy for me and the members of the Organizing Committee to welcome you, this Saturday, October 10, 2020, in this football stadium which bears the glorious name of Félix Houphouët -Boigny, the father of the Ivorian nation.
This gathering of democrats and the nation’s vital forces, this “referendum meeting”, brings together all those who say NO to the violation of the constitution and the 3rd request of President Alassane OUATTARA and who demand fair, transparent, inclusive elections and credible.
I would like to salute this exemplary mobilization of the Ivorian people in their inexorable march for the defense and strengthening of freedom and democracy in the land of our ancestors.
We came from all walks of life, in spite of intimidation, provocations, attacks and obstacles to access to the stadium, to be eyewitnesses of the cohesion of the opposition and to call the national community to witness and that we “stand together” to speak out against perjury and fraud.
We thank you for your determination and we know how to count on you from now on.
How can we not be delighted with this strong presence of political staff and activists from all platforms who spared no effort to make this event grandiose with this beautiful mix of adults, women and young people.
Our rally this morning is motivated by the gravity of the deleterious political situation in the country characterized by the attempt to force through the supporters of the Unified RHDP Regime who refuse any dialogue, while they claim to be Houphouetism whose cardinal values are dialogue, consensus building, peace and social cohesion.
Do you want to go to the elections with the unjustified elimination of the candidatures of Laurent GBAGBO, SORO Guillaume, COULIBALY Mamadou, MABRI TOIKEUSSE, GNAMIEN KONAN and Marcel AMON TANON? NO!!!
Do you want the return of Laurent GBAGBO? YES!!
Do you want SORO Guillaume back? YES !!!!
Do you want BLE GOUDE back? YES!!!
Do you want AKOSSI Bendjo back? YES!!!!
THEN FORWARD TO CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE.
