Alassane Ouattara was on Friday, October 16, in Bouaké as part of the launch of his campaign for the 2020 presidential election.
The candidate of the Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP, in power), Alassane Ouattara, hailed the “strong mobilization” of his supporters at the opening of his campaign in Bouaké.
“I would like to greet you and thank you for this strong mobilization which shows that the RHDP is in the majority in Côte d’Ivoire,” he declared in front of a crowd of enthusiastic supporters chanting his name. He urged them to a massive vote on October 31 to get him elected in the first round. “You have to go out in large numbers to vote so that the RHPD achieves a knockout shot from October 31, 2020,” he recommended.
RHDP candidate Alassane Ouattara took the opportunity of this inaugural meeting to reiterate his confidence in the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and the Constitutional Council. For him, these two institutions of the Republic, responsible for leading the electoral process in Côte d’Ivoire, are truly independent. He therefore invited his opponents to come and face him at the polls and not to be afraid.
In addition, Alassane Ouattara, candidate of the Rassemblement des houphouétistes pour la democratie et la paix (RHDP, ruling coalition) did not fail to taunt the opposition.
“Let everyone stop deluding themselves. He will not have postponements of the elections, he will not have a transition,” said Alassane Ouattara during a meeting held this Friday in Bouaké, with religious guides and traditional leaders.
He reaffirmed that the elections will take place on October 31 and “Ivorians will freely choose the person they consider to be the best armed, the best prepared to exercise the function” of President of the Republic following the elections. .
