(IRNA) – Iran’s Defense Ministry has unveiled a new nationally designed and manufactured satellite carrier capable of placing satellites in orbit 500 km above the ground.
Ahmad Hosseini, spokesman for Iran’s Defense Ministry’s space department, said on Monday that the new satellite is based on the most powerful solid-fuel engine, first reached by specialists in the country.
“For the first time in the field of space science, the first launch test of the Zuljanah satellite carrier was carried out after realizing the most powerful solid fuel engine technology for the purpose of conducting suborbital tests,” a- he added.
The three-phase planet carrier, which is technically comparable to the most modern in the world, has two solid thrust phases and one liquid thrust phase, he added.
The official noted that he was able to carry a satellite weighing 220 kg in an orbit 500 km above the ground.
Hosseini said access to the country’s most powerful solid-fuel engine with over 750 tons of thrust was among the space test’s significant achievements.
The satellite carrier is said to be ready to put operational satellites into orbit after the completion of the research trials, he noted and added that reducing costs and increasing the speed of achievement of targets are among its main objectives. characteristics.
Iran has used various fluid fuel satellite carrier rockets to put satellites into orbit.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched and put into orbit the country’s first military satellite.
