VTV- This Thursday, the first phase of vaccination with Sputnik V began in Venezuela for priority personnel, mainly health personnel, who are on the front line of the battle against COVID-19.
The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who heads the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of COVID-19, reported that on this first day, the capital region which includes Caracas, La Guaira and Miranda is addressed .
He recalled that the first doses arrived in the country on Saturday, but also that the country was the first in the Western Hemisphere to receive the Russian vaccine for study at the time of the phase III trials.
The vaccination process takes about three minutes and the Venezuelan authorities will draw up a register that will be married to the Patria system.
He explained that the country has managed to overcome the evil to initiate vaccination against the theft of resources and criminal blockade, as recognized by the UN human rights rapporteur by condemning the imposition of measures coercive and demanding their lifting.
He also denounced the pressure on pharmaceutical companies not to sell vaccines in Venezuela amid the blockade.
He indicated that this first phase includes not only public sector health personnel, but also workers in private health centers.
