In a statement released on Friday April 23, the Ministry of Transport informed that a new reform has been decided for the acquisition of the driving license. Attached is the full press release.

COMMUNIQUE FROM THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT RELATING TO THE SUSPENSION OF THE INSPECTORS OF THE THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS OF THE DRIVING LICENSE

As part of the strengthening of road safety and taking into account the causes of serious accidents on the roads of our country despite the efforts made by the Government to transport goods and people in the best conditions of safety and comfort, it appeared necessary for the Ministry of Transport to clean up the route to obtain a driving license.

Also, following preliminary investigations and given the need to fight effectively against corruption and fraud in obtaining a driving license, the Minister of Transport informs the candidates for the exams, that for reasons of in-depth investigations and necessity service, it is decided, as of Monday April 26, 2021, to suspend their functions, of all inspectors assigned to the service of theoretical and practical examinations of the Driving License.

The Minister of Transport would like to reassure candidates for driving license exams that they will resume on Monday, May 3, 2021 and will be provided by agents of the national gendarmerie for a period of three (03) months, time for the government to complete the crucial phase of the reform of the said examinations. In order to ensure the effectiveness of this measure, which aims to save human lives and maintain the credibility of the Ivorian driving license, the Minister of Transport invites exam candidates to be patient and all road users. strict compliance with the rules of the highway code
