“The date of Laurent Gbagbo’s return to Côte d’Ivoire will be known by the end of next week.” This is the information given in substance by ex-President Laurent Gbagbo’s spokesman Koné Katinan. He was speaking this Wednesday, May 26, 2021, during a meeting with journalists from Fraternité Matin in Adjamé (Abidjan).
For the spokesperson, Laurent Gbagbo returns to take part in social cohesion. Koné Katinan, who has been appointed to chair the communication commission for the return of the former President, wants this event to be “a trigger to relaunch national reconciliation in the Ivory Coast”. And to add: “We are condemned to live on the national territory. And it is our ability to overcome these difficulties that will make us a great nation ”.
As for the division within the Ivorian Popular Front (Fpi), Koné Katinan wanted to be clear: “Our house will be found very quickly because our dad (Editor’s note: Laurent Gbagbo) is coming”.
Laurent Gbagbo was definitively acquitted by the International Criminal Court (ICP). His supporters are working hard for his return home.
