The Men’s AfroBasket 2021 kicked off on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in Kigali, Rwanda. For its second outing this Friday, August 27, 2021, the Basketball Elephants housed in Group C, dominated their counterparts from Mali (90 – 67).
Very good match for the Ivorians even if, they relaxed a little in the 3rd and 4th quarter time. However, the Ivorian team would benefit from putting more rigor in its game because the afrobasket is of the High level.
Note that the third outing, the Elephants basketball players will face Nigeria, Sunday August 29, 2021. Côte d’Ivoire is housed in Pool C, with Nigeria the big favorite of the competition, Mali and Kenya.
As a reminder, the FIBA Afrobasket is the first basketball tournament on the African continent. It is managed and organized by the African regional office of the International Basketball Federation – FIBA Africa. The first edition of the championship was held in 1962 in Cairo, Egypt and saw the host country win the first continental title.
