The Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) issued a statement condemning the broadcast of a program on NCI which extolled rape. The declaration signed by the secretary general and spokesperson of the party, Issiaka Sangaré, considers that “such acts are the opposite of the progress made in our society for the promotion of women’s rights”.
DECLARATION OF THE FRONT POPULAIRE IVOIRIEN RELATING TO THE APOLOGY OF RAPE ON NCI
Following a program broadcast on Monday, August 30, 2021, on the antennas of the private Ivorian television channel NCI, which insidiously defended rape, many voices were raised to condemn and decry such an attitude which a deliberate expectation of good morals and undermines the dignity and respect of women.
The FPI joins this collective disapproval and condemns such actions at the antipodes of the progress made in our society for the promotion of women’s rights.
The FPI welcomes the court decisions including the suspended sentence of the host involved.
The FPI calls on the private Ivorian television channel NCI to be more vigilant in drawing up specifications so that such a situation, which is highly damaging to its image, does not happen again.
The FPI empathizes with all women victims of such outrage.
