On Thursday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a telephone meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during which they expressed their best wishes to peoples and governments in this year 2022.

President Nicolas Maduro took the opportunity to thank the Russian government for its support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, through the supply of vaccines and medicines that have served to guarantee the health of Venezuelans.

“We exchanged on issues related to the existing cooperation in various strategic areas at the highest level, a relationship that is strengthened by the indissoluble union of our peoples,” said the Head of State Nicolás Maduro.

Note that the Kremlin gives more information on the content of the exchanges between the two Heads of State.

“The discussion focused on topical issues of Russian-Venezuelan cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the trade, economy, energy and other sectors. The importance of continuing cooperation to counter the spread of the coronavirus, including sending Russian vaccines to Venezuela, was highlighted.

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination in international affairs in accordance with the principles of strategic partnership that underpin bilateral relations.

Vladimir Putin expressed his unwavering support for the efforts of the Venezuelan authorities to strengthen the country’s sovereignty and ensure its socio-economic development. The two presidents agreed to intensify contacts at different levels.
