The next African Cup of Nations (CAN 2023) will take place in January / February 2024, announced the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on July 3, in Rabat.

In conclusion, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed an 18-month period of suspension on Ivorian player Sylvain Gbohouo after he tested positive for the substance trimetazidine (which is on the 2021 WADA Prohibited List under class S4 .4 Metabolic Modulators) following a Qatar Cup 2022 Qualifying Match played on 16 November 2021.

Due to the presence of the Prohibited Substance in his sample, the Player was found to have breached Article 6 of the FIFA Anti-Doping Regulations, read in conjunction with Article 17 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

The aforementioned period of suspension begins on 23 December 2021, the date on which the player was provisionally suspended by the chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee. In accordance with article 30 of the FIFA Anti-Doping Regulations, the suspension covers, inter alia, all types of matches, including domestic, international, friendly and official matches.
